Lovey Dovey

Remember this dove?

Well, a few days ago two little chicks hatched!

This image was taken one or two days after they hatched... it is a little blurry, but you can sort of make out how one barely has an eye open...

Two days later he already looks more alert

A face only a mother could love...
You can see his feathers starting to come in around his eyes.

Oh these are WONDERFUL! I just love how the parents sit on them and keep them warm as they grow into themselves....Isn't it a real privelage to be able to get so close....? Wonderful, Wonderful!

Wow! what a treat. In a house we had in Utah, a humingbird had built a nest right outside a bathroom window (on a eyebolt for cable). You could stand on the bathtub and look right into her nest--it was neat.

Amazing photos! I would be thrilled to have the experiences you are having with these birds. So great to see new chicks!

what lovely photos, the chick will grow up to be as beautiful as its parents, if your cats don't get there first!
